Alternative festival still full throttle
This is a celebration of music, art, literature and photography which provides a platform for new wave musicians, artists and performers. Trash’d kicked off in September but there’s still loads to come...November 29 sees the return of Raw at The Brass Monkey, when young punk bands meet industry veterans in a panel style critique event. Admission £5.
From December 2 -21 an exhibition by Felix Zakar will run at the Memorial Art Gallery, showing works by this Folkestone based visual artist and artist’s bookmaker.

Hide AdHowl! is a new addition to Trash’d for 2015, the exploration of the spoken word with Respond Academy. The Howl! Gala Show with special guests PA’s Joe Sellman-Leava and Iphgenia Baal takes place at The Stade Hall on December 3, £5 entry.
Another new event is Draw the Line on December 10 from 7.30pm, an illustrated talk by Cathy Simpson on British cartoonists’ response to the Charlie Hebdo killings, with the work of Ralph Steadman, Bill Stott and others. Only £3 this includes live music and discussion at Borough Wines Shop in Robertson Street. Finally there is A Midwinter Night’s Dream (Winterval Transmission), The Trash’d New Wave Festival Christmas Special with Thomas Truax at The Brass Monkey on December 21 at 7pm, entry £5.
