Don't miss a last chance to catch original operetta
Margaret Amey appealed in the Observer for performers to accompany her at the start of musical venture Buxton Or Bust which she hoped would be a fun-loving entertainment pitched somewhere between Gilbert And Sullivan and Mamma Mia.
Now they are taking that highly entertaining production to the International Gilbert And Sullivan Festival in Yorkshire - under new title Harrogate Or Bust in honour of the venue - and have also been recognised for their exciting new operetta in the form of a National Operatic and Dramatic Association runners-up award across the entire South East area.

This is a final opportunity to enjoy Margaret’s achievement. Written for music lovers who enjoy light opera, musical fun and Gilbert and Sullivan, Harrogate or Bust has a modern plot involving a wayward daughter, Lord Simon, an amorous Health and Safety Officer, a property developer and a Chorus of Unruly Ghosts and, in particular Sam, the puppet parrot who has proven to be a great favourite with both adults and children. It includes more than 30 Gilbert And Sullivan songs.
Margaret said: “Last year’s production was a huge success and so many people sought us out afterwards wishing they had come to see the show or brought their friends and family. Well now you can! Come and see a fabulous show and support this local company.”
