Film review: Mojave (4 out of 5)
Of course, you need a good cast to back all this up.
Mojave is certainly atmospheric and with the likes of Oscar Isaacs and Garrett Hedlund has plenty of welly on the acting front.
Hedlund plays Thomas, an artist who appears to be metaphorically in a very dark place.

During a drive into the desert he ends up meeting a homicidal drifter called Jack (Isaacs).
Thomas returns to his luxuriant lifestyle in LA, followed by Jack who now holds a dark secret over his adversary’s head.
It’s a question of who will survive an inevitable final meeting between the two.

There’s no heroes versus villains scenario here - all the characters are pretty unpleasant.
But it’s a fascinating film that follows its own unusual path and is all the more enjoyable for that reason.
