Brighton brewing company's latest beer will help the homeless get back into work
The Pave The Way Pale Ale has been launched by Big Hug Brewing, which calls itself a ‘hobo’ brewing company, a homeless brewery who partner with other breweries around the UK to brew its beers.
The company’s owner Matt Williams lives in Brighton and he is delighted the ale will support the work of charity Only A Pavement Away (OAPA) which helps people facing homelessness, including vulnerable veterans and ex-offenders, reintegrate back into society by finding employment in the hospitality industry.

The Pave the Way ale s now on shelves in selected Co-ops in Brighton and Hove and across Sussex as well as being stocked in off-licences including Southover Wines in Brighton, Wine Barrell in Hove and Palate in Shoreham.
Big Hug Brewing’s aim is to raise £5,000 this year for OAPA through sales and sponsored events with funds helping people on the employment scheme with rent, travel and essential living expenses as they embark on their journey back into work and independent living.
Matt, who launched another initiative to help the homeless called Hugs4Snugs three years ago, said: “It was always important for me to try and give a little something back when we set up Big Hug Brewing. Living in Brighton, a city with a big homelessness issue, makes supporting charities which help homeless people, even more important to us.”
