Our Lady of Sion A-level results: Pupils show ‘unwavering devotion’ to outstanding grades

The majority of students at the Westbrooke school – 53 per cent – secured grades A* to A in yesterday’s (August 13) results.
An incredible 93 per cent received grades A* to C.
In a statement, the school said pupils had shown ‘resilience, drive, self-motivation and an unwavering devotion’ over a disrupted school year that saw exams cancelled and lessons missed.

Hide AdThis year’s results were given based on the school’s predictions, ratified by a Government algorithm that has seen thousands of teenagers have their predicted grades lowered.
Acting headteacher, Steve Jeffery, said: “We are all very moved by the outstanding achievements of our young people. They have worked hard for these terrific results and they unquestionably deserve them.
“Where there are anomalies, we shall explore this further, as we know our students very well and all results must therefore reflect the hard work and dedication seen each day here in Sion.
“I am forever proud of every young person with whom I am fortunate enough to meet within this school.

Student Anthony Leong earned an incredible five A*s and will go on to study mathematics at Pembroke College, Cambridge University.
Anna Sayegh’s two A*s and two As will see her to go on to study dentistry at King’s College London.
