Pupils enjoy transformed space at Pulborough school
The two reception classrooms have had a full makeover during the summer holidays and new furniture and equipment has been installed for a light, bright learning space.
Lee Callender, head of St Mary’s Early Years, is delighted with the transformation which has already had a significant impact on children being able to settle into school life quickly and easily.

“Most importantly it’s a wonderful learning environment for the children. We have a variety of different spaces that can be created from our furniture collection, spaces to gather together, spaces to be quiet and contemplative spaces to work collaboratively or in groups.”
Lee Callender has taught at St Mary’s for 18 years, since her own daughter started school.
Now head of the early years, which is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, she has seen many changes over the years in teaching methods for the youngest school children.

“The children are already making the most of their new space which is wonderful to see.”
