The Littlehampton Academy students celebrate their A-Level results

The Academy saw 40 per cent of students achieve grades A*-B, with a large number of students going on to secure their spot at university.
Rosie Reader, 18, is one of those students about to embark on university life.

Hide AdRosie achieved four A* grades and one A in her A-Levels and is now setting her sights on studying biomedical engineering at Imperial College London.
She said: “I am very relieved with my results but I am so happy. “I was so nervous walking in to collect them but now I have been confirmed at my first choice it is a relief.
“Both my insurance and first choice universities were asking for two A stars and two A’s, so it is nice to have achieved grades above that.”
Jack Piper achieved an A* and two A’s in his A-Levels and now plans to study computer science at Warwick university.

Hide AdHe said: “I was really surprised to find out that I got an A* in computing but, because that is what I want to go into, that was the best result to find.
“I am so excited to study something that I love at university.
“In terms of the future, I would love to find a job in some sort of software engineering. I want to keep my options open for as long as I can.”
Another student, Frank Nightingale achieved five A* grades in his AS Level exams.

Hide AdFrank is now planning to continue studying the five subjects next year as he pushes for a place at university.
Frank said: “I am very pleased with my grades. I didn’t expect to get them all at A* level so that is very pleasing.
“I want to go to university next year but I don’t know where yet. I am thinking hopefully Oxford if I can get in.”
Emily Hughes, 17, also received her AS results.
She achieved A grades in English literature, English language and geography, as well as a B in politics.

Hide AdShe now has one year to go before she makes plans for university as the application process begins soon.
“It was such a nervous morning but it feels great now to have the grades.
“I will be beginning my application for university in September and I am excited to start.”
Another AS-Level student, Will Lloyd secured four A’s across government, politics, history and English literature.

Hide AdHe said: “I am very satisfied with my results and a little surprised.
“In terms of celebrations, I am going to wash some dishes and then maybe go home and have a curry.
“The pressure has been put on ahead of next year a little now but hopefully I will be pleased with my results.”
