A26 CRASH RECORD 'APPALLING'
The statistics are further evidence of the extremely hazardous road conditions in that area, he said this week.
The figures show that in the last three years there have been 38 crashes on this part of road, with three of these being serious, and one fatal.

Hide AdMr Baker said: 'The A26 has long been notorious for its worrying safety record, and the recent serious accident at Paygate Cottages provided a further shocking example of this.
'I am appalled by these figures. They are further evidence of the extremely hazardous road conditions on this stretch of the A26.
'The crash at Paygate in October highlighted the dangers of the road in this area and these new figures show that there is an extremely poor crash record not only at Paygate, but all the way from Earwig Corner to Oaklands Park.
'What is needed is not the half-measures suggested by the county council, but a major re-think of traffic safety in the area.
'It is unacceptable that the council has left the situation unamended for years since the botched scheme to straighten the A26.'
