Accidental house fire in Fairlight

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at around 2:05pm to reports of smoke coming from a roof on Peter James Lane.
A house measuring approximately 30 metres by 10 metres was alight.

Hide AdAt the height of the incident six fire engines were at the scene on Peter James Lane.
They used eight breathing apparatus, firefighting foam, a main jet, a hose reel jet and a hydrant to tackle the fire.
A PPV fan is being used to clear the smoke.
As of 3.30pm, the operation was being scaled back to 3 fire engines.
Crews are damping down and cutting back to ensure the fire is fully out.

Hide AdAt this early stage, the fire is thought to have been accidental.
There are no reports of injuries.
