Airline captain takes control of Voice of Progress
Charles Waring, who lives in Arundel, will succeed the current director Nicholas Myer, of East Preston, who retires at the end of this year.
Mr Waring recently retired as a British Airways captain. He said: “I am absolutely delighted to accept the invitation to take over from Nicholas and look forward to being part of VOP’s very successful team.

Mr Myer welcomed his successor’s appointment as “excellent news” for all the listeners and volunteers of the Voice of Progress.
Originally started by the Rotary Club of Littlehampton in 1975, it is now an independent charity staffed entirely by volunteers and produces separate editions for Littlehampton and Worthing, on tapes and CDs.
