The safe-clubbing group tried in vain last year to gain council funding for the bus, part of their overall bid for safety initiatives for young clubbers such as help-points and safer railway crossings.

The Battle of the Bands competition has been organised by Cravintunes Entertainment, run by 23-year-old Paul McDonald, who lost an arm in a railway accident when he was 15-years old.
