Hopefully our head teacher will be able to attend and it is hoped we can make some announcements about the progress of the new village clock and jubilee events at school that locals can get involved with in the run up to the jubilee weekend. Beckley Players are performing a farce, Key for Two, directed by Roy Iremonger, on Wednesday 27 June to Saturday 30 June. There will be a gala night on the Wednesday, with wine and canapés, tickets £10, and on the Friday we will have a theatre supper, tickets £15. Tickets for the remaining performances will be £6. The BSA raises money for Beckley School. The school then uses this money to buy resources. We do this to improve our children’s experience in school, to enrich their education. We also have a giggle and make a few friends along the way. How do we do this? We organise events like .The Summer Fair, its great fun but we always need new ideas and help – without new parents joining the BSA events like this won’t happen. This is where you come in. Beckley Motors, Rose and crown and Donna-Jayne’s have them on sell. They make a great gift and are a great keepsake to mark the Queens Jubilee. They also feature lots of old photos of the village. All profits go towards the New Jubilee Clock. Messy Church is creating lots of mess and needs more little fingers to get stuck in! Messy Church brings adults and children together where they experience a fun-filled Christian community outside Sunday worship. It is for all ages and an adult must bring a child or vice versa! Each meeting is themed, has a creative messy activity, sing song and ends with a shared meal. We meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 4pm at Udimore Community Hall next to St Mary’s Church. Our annual walk starts from Phillips and Stubbs office in rye on the above date from 9-10am. A countryside ramble along the river Rother to iden lock, then over the farmland to bosney farm to iden and returning to rye through bowler’s town and leasam with a choice of 3 distances. In aid of local charities including St Michael’s hospice and the league of friends of rye and winchelsea memorial hospital. Beckley Preschool, with financial help from Beckley Village Centre, have been working on the front garden at the Village Centre to give the Preschool children an outside play and garden area. The next stage is to install 2 benches and begin plans for planting - particularly the 3 raised bed areas. The Preschool would like Beckley groups to become involved in the project and would be interested to hear from anyone who would like to make a donation towards these items / ideas /help etc. For instance, each bed could have an item/sculpture that represents their group?
