Cartoon mural on student house in Brighton goes viral
The graffiti depicts the main characters from adult animated show Rick & Morty, a sci-fi comedy about a sociopathic, alcoholic scientist who takes his grandson on a series of inter-dimensional misadventures.
A picture of the house’s exterior was well received by users of the internet site reddit, who upvoted it nearly 40 thousand times and left 800 approving comments.

When asked about his relationship with the occupants of the other painted houses, University of Brighton student Alex Cartwright, who lives in the Rick & Morty house, said: “I don’t know them. I did lend one of them my IPod charger once, though.
“I think the murals are mainly to hide the fact the houses are crumbling and mouldy,” Mr Cartwright laughed.
Mehdi Yavari, 22, Biomedical student and also a tenant of the Rick & Morty house, told The Brighton & Hove Independent: “We had no say in the design, but luckily we are fans of the show.”

The Rick & Morty artwork was done on commission by local graffiti artist Aroe MSK, who is also responsible for the other two murals on Upper Lewes Road, as well as one on Viaduct Road featuring Queen Victoria and another on Hartington Road containing Homer and Bart Simpson.
