Collections prove a big success for Worthing Lions
The charity had to overcome a number of setbacks but still managed to raise just under £7,000.
Marian Downs, communication officer for Worthing Lions, said: “We would like to thank everyone who put money in the buckets and every penny will go to local causes, both individuals in need and local charities.

Disaster struck two days into the collections when the speakers in the Lions’ van broke. Fortunately, Dick Jupp, in conjunction with B & W speakers, identified the problem and overhauled the speakers free of charge.
In fact, the Lions were fortunate to have any music at all, as just before the collections were due to begin their music system broke down. Max Thomas, a long-standing friend of the Lions, saved the day by lending the charity his personal tablet for the collections.
