County gets a raw deal from government - MP
In his most recent questions to Ministers in the House of Commons, Mr Hendry has established that East Sussex County Council receives just 159 per person in the form of a grant from central government.
This compares with an average for England and Wales of around 350 per head and far below 1,000 given to some councils.

'At a stroke, this would solve the problems the County Council faces in funding education, transport, police and social services.
'Needless to say, we could do with the money to sort out the problems associated with the additional housing New Labour plans to build in this area."
