Crawley tattoo business ‘kicking off’ after owner wins award

Pawel Sztachelski, 34, who owns Studio 13, The Boulevard, won at The Bedford International Tattoo Convention 2015.
He said trade was ‘kicking off big time’ at his shop after the competition. He opened it in February last year.

Hide AdHe was awarded Best of Show and second place in a Black and Grey category.
He tattooed a Crawley man’s sleeve for a marathon 13 hours over the two-day convention which ran on August 1 and 2.
The second day saw him anaesthetise the man who because of the pain.
He had designed the A3-sized tattoo three weeks in advance but said he changed his mind during the competition. The design would normally take months to complete.

Hide AdMr Sztachelski, of Maidenbower, said winning the awards has helped distinguish him from competitors in town.
He hoped to secure a sponsorship deal to work for a magazine.
He planned to attend another convention in Bournemouth which will run on September 5 and 6.
