The owners of Present Surprise, in South Street, said it was broken into in the early hours of Sunday morning (March 22).
Its post on Facebook read: "In the early hours of this morning we were broken into. To be honest with everything that is currently happening in the world it does appear trivial but it is our livelihood and we rely on our customers’ support to put food in our dogs’ bowl!

"A break in affects so many things. Thank you for your continued support during these tough economic times."
The owners said the shop was closed yesterday whilst police officers investigated and the mess left by the burglars was cleared.
However, in an update today (Monday), they said the shop would remain closed for the 'foreseeable future' due to the coronavirus pandemic.
