Eastbourne Police warn public of catalytic converter thefts
On social media a spokesperson for Eastbourne Police said, “Catalytic converter thefts are on the increase in Eastbourne and nationwide, they contain precious metals which thieves try to obtain and sell.
“Here’s some simple steps to keep your vehicle safe, but we’re doing all we can to prevent and detect this kind of crime.”

Hide AdEastbourne Police have advised residents to keep their cars parked in home garages when possible, use motion-sensing lights in their driveway and to park in well-lit areas.
Police have said lighter cars, such as the Toyota Prius, may be a targeted because it is easier to lift.
Catalytic converters are used to control emissions and to reduce toxic gases and pollutants.
Last month a hospital worker had her converter stolen while she was at work.
