Man arrested over death of dog tied to back of car
The 33-year-old, from Worthing, handed himself into Worthing Police Station last night (Monday, November 21), and was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty. He remains in custody today (November, 22).
Police found the body of the beagle collie cross dumped in a lay-by on the A27 westbound, just past the Southwick Tunnel at about 10.30pm on Sunday (November 20).

Hide AdWitnesses first reported seeing a black Porsche Carrera being driven around with a dog tied to the back at the Devils Dyke car park, Brighton, at 10pm.
The car was then spotted at 10.30pm, dragging the dog through the tunnel, before pulling into a lay-by.
When police arrived at the lay-by, they found the dog, and took it to a local vet, but it was dead,
PC Scott Walters said: “This is being treated as a deliberate act. The injuries this dog suffered were horrific.
“It has been distressing for everyone involved.”
