Man charged with burglary after Eastbourne break-in

A man has been charged with burglary and theft after a break-in at a property in Eastbourne town centre.
Sussex Police said officers were patrolling the town centre when they saw a man enter an address in South Street at around 6.30pm on Tuesday, March 10.

Hide AdA spokesperson for the force said, “Moments later, a torchlight was seen to come on inside one of the properties for approximately one minute. The man was then seen to leave the address.”
When the occupant of the property returned home later that evening, it was found a quantity of cash had been stolen from inside the address
Darrell Owen, unemployed, of Howard Square, Eastbourne, was arrested and charged with burglary and theft.
The 52-year-old appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (April 18), where he was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on May 15.
