Pair arrested by armed police at Brighton school released without charge

Sussex Police officers, including some armed, arrested a man and a teenage boy in the car park of Bevendean Primary School on Wednesday morning (July 17) following reports of a motocross vehicle being stolen in Brighton at 2.30am, said police.
A spokesman said: “The owner of the bike reported the theft to police at 6.38am of the same day, saying that he had been threatened with a hammer and a knife when he attempted to retrieve the bike from a van in the Stanmer Park area, where he thought the bike had been taken to.

Hide Ad“Police responded to the reported threat of violence and acted on the vehicle description and individual named.
“A 20-year-old man from Hove was arrested on suspicion of robbery and theft of a motor vehicle and a 16-year-old boy from Hove was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, they have since been released without charge.”
