Officers say there have been three other reports of caravans being stolen elsewhere in Sussex over the past week.
They are now urging owners to fit their vehicles with ‘trackers.’ A spokesman said: “If you own a caravan you should consider having one fitted.
“On several occasions in recent weeks Sussex Police have managed to recover stolen vehicles fitted with such devices, not only that but they have managed to apprehend the thief.
“So please, please help Sussex Police to help you by fitting your valuable vehicles with trackers.”
Anyone with any information about the thefts is asked to contact police by calling 101.
