Suspected burglar in Bognor Regis detained by member of the public

Police were called to an alarm activation at a business premises last night, a spokesman said.
Upon arriving at the location, a male had been detained by a member of the public, according to police.
He was then arrested by officers on suspicion of burglary.

Hide AdHe remains in custody at this time while an investigation is underway, police said.
The police spokesman said in a post on Facebook that they were currently seeing an increase in burglaries to businesses across Bognor – where cash from till floats, safes, charity boxes and tip jars were being targeted.
The spokesman said: “We have increased patrols and are acting on lines of enquiry.
“In the meantime please consider how efficient your security is and don’t leave large amounts of cash on the premises overnight.
