In the video, shared anonymously with the Worthing Herald, the vehicle is shown running over temporary poles put in place to cordon off one lane of Worthing’s A24 Broadwater Road for a cycle lane.
Filmed from the driver’s point of view, the bollards can be heard crumpling beneath the vehicle as it travels north, before turning left into Queen Street.

Detractors have bemoaned the increased congestion, arguing it increases pollution and could harm Worthing’s recovery from lockdown by putting people off coming into the town centre.A petition to have the lanes, which run from the Grove Lodge roundabout into town, removed has already gained more than 7,000 signatures.
They were installed by West Sussex County Council as part of a government scheme to get people off public transport and onto bikes, looking to capitalise on a cycling boom seen during lockdown.
