Dead man yet to be identified
British Transport Police is working with colleagues from Sussex Police to trace the family of the man struck by a train in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The empty passenger train was travelling between Hastings and Eastbourne struck him at Pevensey and Westham station.

Hide AdIt is beleived the man was aged between 50 and 60-years-old.
The train was travelling at 70mph when it stuck the man 100 yards west of the station.
The driver was uninjured but is now being cared for by his employers, Southern Railway.
An investigation has been launched into the incident which happened around 1.30am yesterday morning.

Hide AdOne train service was affected as a result, which was the 05.07 due to start at Hastings but instead left from Eastbourne.
The coroners office has been informed.
