Drivers warned of continued A29 flooding at Pulborough

The Environment Agency says that water levels on the River Arun “could rise by a few centimetres in Pulborough today (Friday) but they should fall again by this evening.
And it warns that the river will not return to a normal level until next week. A spokesperson said: “Some roads, including the A29 at Pulborough, may become impassable, please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding.

All other flood warnings for West Sussex have now been lifted by the Environment Agency.
However, West Sussex County Council’s Highways department says that the B2135 at Bines Green, Partridge Green, which closed yesterday (Thursday) because of flooding has been left with damage to the carriageway.
A spokesperson said: “Officers are visiting the site today to establish and coordinate works. A section of the carriageway remains closed.”
