Emergency services rush to home in Chichester to rescue man trapped under a tree

A crew from Chichester Fire Station and a heavy rescue tender joined police officers and paramedics, including from the air ambulance, after a man fell from a tree in Fishbourne Road at 12.21pm.
The man had been working on the tree with a chainsaw before he fell and became trapped, needing medical assistance, according to West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.

Hide AdA spokesman added: "Fishbourne Road was closed and a traffic management plan was put in place to allow emergency services to rescue the casualty.
“Firefighters worked alongside paramedics, who stabilised the casualty, while they removed the tree. He was left in the care of paramedics.”
Sussex Police confirmed officers attended 'reports of a man injured by a fallen tree' and he was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
South East Coast Ambulance Service was unable to provide any further information about the condition of the casualty.
