Eye witnesses to Brighton stabbing urged to come forward
The victim is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach at 8.25pm on Saturday (22 July).
Detective Constable Tom Coll said, “CCTV shows at least seven customers in the restaurant at the time of the stabbing with four people – three men and a woman – clearly seeing what has happened. I ask them to call us so we can speak to them.

Hide Ad“We continue to seek Jordan Ash, an 18-year-old man from Brighton, in relation to the stabbing. We believe he is still in the city and anyone who has any information should contact us. We ask that should they see him not to challenge him but to contact police on 999 quoting serial 1363 of 22/07.”
Mehash McKenzie, 23, a sales assistant, of Bolney Road, Brighton, and a 15-year-old-boy also from Brighton, have both been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and with possession of a knife in a public place.
They appeared before Brighton magistrates on Monday (July 24) and McKenzie was committed, in custody, for trial with an initial hearing at Lewes Crown Court on Monday August 21.
The 15-year-old was remanded into local authority care and will also appear at Lewes Crown Court on August 21.
