Fernhurst pupils join bulb planting

The children were helped by Fernhurst Horticultural Society.
Guided by the knowledgeable enthusiasm of vice-chairman Louise Buchanan, the children planted almost 2,500 bulbs, including crocus and dwarf daffodils.

Hide AdPupils worked in year groups with their teachers and teaching asssistants.
This year’s planting at the Haslemere Road, was in small groups on the banks around the hard playground. But it was hard earth, too, and much effort had to be made to make the planting deep enough.
The bulbs were principally paid for by the children bringing in small donations.
It was the second year the school had worked with the horticultural society in a bid to make the school grounds brighter for everyone.
