His mum, Joy Mason, has been sending him some money, along with donations from friends, though the benefits of the cash is lessened by the need to pay exchange rate commission.
She now hopes a fun day at the Family Tree pub in North Bersted will provide a major boost to Conway and lift his morale.
A host of supporters are staging the event on May 30. It includes performances by several local musicians, among them the Renegade Cowboys, singer Sophie Louise Raikes and guitarist Nick Piner, If 6 Was 9 and ex-Raw Power members Andy Cawley and Gavin Barnard.

Mrs Mason said she was grateful for everyone's support for the afternoon.
"Conway just wants to enjoy the rest of his life. He is trying his best to look positively on a negative situation.
"He and his girlfriend are getting married on July 11. I would love to be able to provide him with a couple of days to remember. Hopefully, the fun day will help to do that.

"Conway can't work. He used to go jogging. Now, he can't even lift a bag of shopping."
