Greenfield sites under threat from homes plan
The news has come after an inspector, appointed by Sec-retary of State for Communit-ies Hazel Blears, examined a draft report recommending 15 sites for development.
The report had been prepared by Mid Sussex District Council after three years of consultations. The inspector has added extra areas to the list, where he believes development is acceptable and has told the district council to be prepared for it.

Hide AdLindfield vlllage is furious about the late move because an area behind Newton Road in the village has been earmarked for 120 homes and it will not be able to fight the issue.
The inspector's decision is binding and Lindfield is one of four communities in which unexpected extra homes have been allocated at the last moment. The others are Crawley Downs, Cuckfield and East Grinstead.
Lindfield residents fear the character of the village, commonly referred to as 'lovely Lindfield' will be severely damaged by the additional houses, with overcrowding a key factor.
