Hastings '˜is getting happier and less anxious'

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed which parts of the country are the happiest, most anxious, have the highest and lowest levels of life satisfaction and how worthwhile people’s lives feel.
Hastings’ happiness score was 7.43 out of 10 for 2015/16, a slight rise from 7.25 the year before and in line with the UK average.

Hide AdOur anxiety levels have slowly increased since falling dramatically in 2013/14, and now sits at 2.66 out of 10 this year.
For life satisfaction, the town has fallen below national average to 7.43 out of 10.
When asked, ‘to what extent do you feel the things you do in your life are worthwhile?’, Hastings’ score has decreased for the second year running to 7.65 out of 10.
In comparison, Rother scored higher (or lower for anxiety) in every category, suggesting people in the countryside are happier, while Eastbourne has similar results across the board.

Hide AdWellbeing levels have been stagnating over the past year despite the country getting wealthier, according to the ONS.
The drop in national happiness has been blamed on world events such as the refugee crisis and numerous terror attacks around the world.
It is the first time since the surveys began in 2011 that wellbeing rates have plateaued.
The Outer Hebrides - otherwise known as Na h-Eileanan Siar - is the happiest place to live, with residents scoring 8.24 out of 10 in the last year.

Hide AdWhile East Northamptonshire was deemed the least happiest place to live, scoring 7.01 in the past 12 months.
