Following intense opposition to the CCG’s decision to award a five-year £235 million musculoskeletal contract to private healthcare provider Bupa CSH Ltd, an independent impact assessment was commissioned.
A summary of the assessment, carried out by Price Waterhouse Cooper (PWC), highlighted a number of potential knock-on effects on hospital services if Bupa was to become the MSK services provider.

Hide AdMargaret Guest, chairman of Don’t Cut Us Out, said: “It’s pretty clear that the concerns the campaigners had have been justified. We feel very much vindicated, having pushed for the impact assessment.
