Horses Cause Crash
The four horses darted across the A259 near the Rustington Golf Centre at 7.30am, resulting in the driver of a Metro to swerve into the eastbound lane and collide into an Astra van, driven by Peter Low, of Worthing Road, pictured above.
Mr Low, 54, who was travelling in a Gamble company van, spent nearly an hour trapped in his vehicle and had to be cut free by firefighters. He suffered leg, face and elbow injuries and many of his teeth were knocked out.

"His mouth hit the steering wheel, breaking many of his teeth. Thankfully, he had his seat belt on. I have been at the hospital with him since it happened. He might be discharged at the weekend."
The driver of the white Metro was not badly hurt. The horses disappeared and the police are still not sure where they came from.
The eastbound carriageway of the road was closed for more than an hour, causing a large jam of rush-hour traffic.
