Airport officials approached marketing agency Storm and asked if they would help them decorate the lifesized cow, named Amoolia Earhart.
The cow will take part in Cow Parade, the world’s largest public art event taking place from now until December. The parade involves dozens of brightly coloured cows decorating hills, farms, towns, schools and popular landmarks across Surrey.

“We selected Storm to assist with our design and opened the naming of our cow to the public via a Twitter vote.”
Gatwick Airport is one of dozens of individuals, companies and schools who are sponsoring and decorating cows which will be displayed around the county until the end of August.
They will then be herded back to Surrey Hills Cow Parade HQ at Coverwood Farm, Peaslake, when they will be auctined at the inaugural Surrey Hills Food, Drink & Music Festival at Coverwood Farm.
The Gatwick cow will be raising money for St Catherine’s Hospice and Cancer Research UK.
