Littlehampton fire crews clean up for charity’s coffers
The team from the Littlehampton fire station, in Maltravers Road, spent most of the day braving the chilly weather, to clean people’s mucky motors, inside and out, in an effort to generate much-needed cash for the Fire Fighters’ Charity.
They put their skill with the high-pressure hoses to good use, earning around £916 to bolster the charity’s coffers.

Hide AdFirefighter James Diston, who took part in the event, was astounded by the amount raised.
He wished to thank all those who supported their fund-raiser, from Going Spare, in Wick, which provided sponges, car wash concentrate and chamois leathers, to the Gazette and Spirit FM who helped promote the day.
James also hailed the efforts of all those who gave so generously in spite of the grim weather.
The Fire Fighters’ Charity offers support to injured or retired firefighters.
