Maldives appeal gets a final push
The sale was organised by Nina Griffiths as one of the final fund-raising efforts for the charity, which is helping people in the Maldives whose lives have been destroyed by the Boxing Day tsunami tragedy.
Mrs Griffiths said she wanted to thank everyone who had given items to the appeal and added that two shipments had already been sent to the Maldives and another was on its way.

Hide AdShe said the items on sale on Saturday had been given to the appeal, but could not be sent out to the Maldives. These included winter clothes, battery-operated toys and canned beef and pork.
Mrs Griffiths said the money would go towards buying a desalination plant. "One of these on a small island will save the island."
Mrs Griffiths said she had now stopped collecting items for the Maldives.
A fund-raising tombola was held at Lancing Parish Hall on Friday and a car boot sale was held in Brighton on Sunday.
She thanked everyone who had helped with the appeal and had given items.
