Midhurst mums go the extra mile

Emma Chapman wanted to show her gratitude for the excellent care provided at Pendean Nursing Home, in West Lavington, for her grandmother, Barbara Mitchell, before she died from cancer last month.
“Alongside the many local Macmillan coffee mornings that have happened in recent weeks, I wanted to personally organise a fundraising event for Macmillan,” she explained.

Hide AdShe contacted mums via Facebook and baby groups, urging them to take part in a mile-long walk for Macmillan on Sunday, followed by coffee, cake and a raffle at The Olive and Vine in Midhurst.
Emma said: “The weather was beautiful and around 45 mums, dads, grandparents and friends arrived at Midhurst bus station with their children to take part in a mile-long walk around Cowdray Ruins.”
Local shops and restaurants donated raffle prizes and £505.89 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
