Mrs Thomas said her first impressions of the school had been excellent. 'It's a very caring and happy place where the children learn in a wonderful setting.
'Walking around the school you can't help but see happy smiling faces all the time.'
The school has been awarded the Government's quality mark for teaching and Mrs Thomas is optimistic about the future of after-school services.
Pupils already have the chance to take advantage of a host of clubs including sports and gardening clubs and the aim is to further increase the after-school options available.
