New Sidley centre will offer respite
The Activities Respite Rehabilitation Care Centre, a charity working with disabled people in Rye, Hastings and Rother, aim to open Thornwood Day Centre by the end of the season.
Their existing premises, in Rye Foreign, offers counselling, art therapy, music therapy and beauty therapy to disabled people between 16-65.

Hide AdMost of these activities will be offered at Thornwood, which focuses on Creative Arts. Tutors will assist with mosaics and painting and specialist art workshops will be held throughout the year.
A weekly creative writing forum will be held to encourage members to learn how to use their creative writing skills.
Computer Training will involve using the internet, email and computer graphics, while qualified counsellors will work with members on their emotional well-being, using music and art.
Visits from therapists will provide a range of beauty treatments, massage and reflexology.

Hide AdThe new centre is part funded by East Sussex County Council and ARRCC's own fundraising.
The ARRCC team would like to hear from anyone interested in accessing the service, and will also be looking for volunteers and staff to assist in making Thornwood Day Centre as successful as the centre in Rye.
