This fantastic amount was raised by Coffee Mornings, table sales and events throughout the year, all of which have been well supported. The fundraising doesn’t stop, with the Charity for the upcoming year being St Michaels Hospice; and the first Coffee morning/Table sale being on the 22nd March, 10 am-12 midday. If anyone has unwanted gifts or anything to donate, please take up to the Club, or give Marjorie a call on 892239, or Maureen on 892182.
Hooe Open Group: Here’s Edna’s report from the last gathering of the Ladies in Hooe!- 25 members enjoyed the meeting, which had a presentation from the Eastbourne franchise holders of Wiltshire Farm Foods. The company was originally established in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, over 25 years ago, and the speakers for this presentation explained how the pre-prepared food is made and frozen there, then dispatched to the local distributors. The customer orders their meal, and within half a day it is prepared for delivery. All diets are catered for, even particular allergies, and, due to the stringent quality controls, are guaranteed to be free from any form of bacteria. After the demonstration, club organiser Edna Wallis thanked the presenters and called for the top quality Raffle to be drawn. The next meeting of the Open Group will be on Friday 11th March and new members are always welcome to this friendly, social afternoon. Contact Edna on 01424 842591 or just turn up at the Village Hall opposite the Red Lion Pub on the second Friday of the month!
