Nursery: For our youngsters even too young for Beavers, we have Northiam Nursery, run together with Beckley Pre-school, who are holding another Table Sale at Beckley Village Centre on Sunday 3rd May from 10-12. These are like an indoor boot sale so lots of bric-a-brac, children’s items, plants, clothes etc, so come on down for a rummage and bag a bargain, entry is free although donations welcomed, there is free parking and refreshments will be available.
Over 60s: If you would like to hear more about the Pestalozzi Village, then the Over 60s is the place to be on Tuesday from 2pm in the Village Hall.

Hide AdCoffee Stop: Meet up with familiar faces at Coffee Stop each Wednesday in the Church Centre between 10am and 12 noon.
WI: The WI meets on Wednesday at 2pm in the Jenkins Room, and this month is the special Resolutions meeting. Each year Women’s Institutes across the country vote in January to select a resolution to be presented and voted upon at the Annual Meeting and where appropriate, presented to HM government. This year’s proposal concerns the issue of removing the distinction between nursing care and personal care in the assessment of the needs of individuals and should produce some lively discussion. After the discussion, Mrs Mollie Green, from the NSPCC, will speak about her work with vulnerable families.
Lace Group: The Lace Group meets in the Jenkins Room on Wednesday at 2pm.
Voting: Don’t forget to vote on Thursday!! This could be the most significant election yet!

Hide AdVE Day: At 9.32pm on Friday, the beacon will be lit to commemorate the 70th anniversary of VE day. Everyone is invited to join in the torchlight procession from the Playing Fields. Times haven’t been confirmed yet, so look out for posters, and do join in! I’ve just seen photos of us all at the street party held to commemorate the 50th anniversary – where has the time gone?
Plant Sale: Northiam Horticultural Society is holding its very popular Plant Sale on Saturday, 9th May at 2.00 p.m. in Northiam Village Hall.There will be over 1,000 plants including perennials, vegetables and herbs, grown by members and Great Dixter. So come along and stock up your garden with some real bargains. All welcome.
Paws for Tea: The Blue Cross are holding a Tea Party 10-2 on Saturday, offering homemade cakes with tea and coffee.
Quiz: Northiam Bonfire Society’s Quiz Night will be in the Village Hall on Saturday 9th – 7 for 7.30pm, and is sold out, so only booked teams this time, please.

Hide AdMessy Church Picnic: Everyone is invited to join Messy Church on Sunday 10th May to picnic on the Playing Fields. There will be games and activities.
Chitiwiri: If you have any unwanted clothes, pairs of shoes, curtains, bed linen, bags, belts, perfume and would like to help raise money for the community of Chitiwiri, please put them in tied bin liners or call at Forge House for green bags. You can leave the bags outside the front door or garage if dry, or alternatively call Sally or Richard 01797 252108 to arrange a convenient time. The bags are being collected at 10am on Monday 11th May. Many, many thanks for your continued support.
