Older folks party on
Sixty seven members, guests, staff and volunteers packed into the hall for singing and dancing with entertainer Brian Howard and for a traditional Christmas lunch of roast turkey followed by Christmas pudding.
MOPPS co-ordinator Jim Saphin said: “Local man Kit McClean once again very kindly paid for the member’s Christmas lunch and Jo Munyard of Five Villages in Icklesham very kindly presented us with a cheque for £500 they had raised earlier in the year at an afternoon tea party.

“Other visitors, guests and supporters included Tony King who represented Fairlight Parish Council, Stephen Leadbetter of Fairlight Residents Association, George Hensher of Fairlight Preservation Trust and the Reverend Frank Rowson and wife Marjorie.
“At one point all but a handful of MOPP’s members were on the dancefloor enjoying Brian Howard’s special brand of party music which ended with an extremely lively hokey-cokey.
“MOPP’s are closed on Christmas Day but reopen on Friday January 1 when we hope everyone will have recovered from the exertions of last Friday’s festive fun and what will hopefully have been a very Happy Christmas.”
