Opinion divided among Arun councillors on filming council meetings
ARUN district councillors spoke about steps that will need to be taken ahead of new legislation allowing the filming of council meetings.
At an overview select committee where opinion was often divided, councillors debated the virtues of meetings being recorded and the challenges it could pose.
The Local Audit and Accountability Bill will make it legal to film and record council meetings and is due to be considered by a House of Commons committee later this month.

Hide AdAt the overview meeting, last Tuesday, some Arun councillors expressed concern that the legislation might lead members of the public to make their own, potentially doctored, recordings.
