Any chance of bit of leeway at end of day?
I had to leave the car there as I had a dental appointment at 6pm but when I returned, there was a parking ticket on the car stating that the observed time for the breach was 5.51pm-5.56pm, just four minutes to go!
I cannot appeal as I was in breach of the limit but I feel common sense and goodwill have gone out of the window and I think there should perhaps be a 15-minute leeway towards the end of the day, especially as there were about four cars parked in the whole length of that road.

Hide AdWorthing already has a bad reputation for high parking charges and I prefer to go to Chichester as it is cheaper and easier to park near to the city.
I know there has been a lot of publicity about Worthing's nightmare parking and this is yet another example of the jobsworth culture and a reflection of the view that quotas have to be met rather than an enforcement for necessity.
