LETTER: Grants handed out to groups
-Landport Residents’ Association to provide healthy Xmas food parcels to those in need;
-Lewes Citizens’ Advice Bureau to help provide advice for the community on welfare issues;

Hide Ad-Lewes Talking Newspapers to provide 20 media players to enable those with no or limited sight to listen to local news and magazine articles;
-Nutty Wizard, the Lewes Community Cafe, to help cover its running costs for the coming year;
-Smarter Living to help people in fuel poverty manage with extra draught-proofing, thermometers and advice.
This means the Lewes Fund has now been able to help over 20 local community groups and their valuable volunteers to help the more disadvantaged in the community via grants totalling £30,000 in the five years since it was set up.

Hide AdIt is aided in its activities through its links with the Sussex Community Foundation which provides the administrative support, thus minimising our running costs.
I am also pleased to say that due to the generosity of over 40 local donors, our endowment fund now totals over £165,000, which ensures a long-term income to help alleviate local disadvantage.
As well as one-off donations, we are also greatly helped by having a regular flow of income via our Standing Order scheme.
