Reading the many letters of thanks and appreciation that you regularly publish is very uplifting for our hardworking staff and we are always very grateful when people take the time to publicly express their gratitude. It does make such a difference - thank you.
I would especially like to thank all those who wrote directly to the CQC before, during and after our inspection in December last year. The inspectors said they received an unprecedented number of letters from the public, the overwhelming majority of which were very positive and highlighted numerous examples of our staff going above and beyond expected levels of care.

We already know how strongly your readers feel about their hospitals in Chichester, Worthing and Shoreham and we hope being confirmed as one of the very best acute trusts in the country will reinvigorate that affection and support for our trust and staff which we do so greatly appreciate.
Our hospitals are your hospitals and if you would like to receive regular information about our trust or would perhaps like to help shape future services please do consider becoming a member of the foundation trust. We already have more than 7,000 public members and I would like to invite anyone interested in finding out more to visit the membership section of our website - www.westernsussexhospitals.nhs.uk.
Thank you again for all your continued support. At Western Sussex we are committed to continually improving everything we do for our patients and our Outstanding rating is another strong foundation upon which to build an even greater service for patients.
