A bridge too far
Why is it necessary for an MP to make a visit to Arundel just to view the traffic jams?
To this humble local lay person who has been using the Arundel relief road twice daily since its creation, a primary if not major cause of the daily congestion leaps out in front of me everyday.

Hide AdIt's the light-controlled pedestrian crossing just west of the railway bridge.
Traffic flows fine until somebody wants to cross the road, then the traffic quickly backs up.
It only takes a few people in quick succession wanting to cross the road and the entire relief road becomes a log jam.
I do not query the right for the safe crossing of a busy road, but surely to goodness it does not take a genius to work out that a pedestrian bridge would ensure traffic can flow uninterrupted.
And please don't print some tedious reply about costs.
