Advantages of PVC
Provided that the window frames and doors are visually indistinguishable from wooden ones, the modern structures have advantages that should sufficient to overcome any remaining prejudices on the part of planning authorities, when used in listed buildings or other restricted situations such as conservation areas.
Such frames do not need frequent repainting, as timber ones do.

Hide AdThey are not prone to drying out and shrinkage and so retain their draughtproof quality and, in double glazing units, they conserve heat inside buildings.
Can we hope that planners will be more tolerant of the use of newer materials which have such obvious advantages over traditional ones?
