Christ’s Hospital Band at Lord’s
The 120 members of the Band were ably led by Band Captain, Freddy Wordsworth aged 18 who plays the trumpet; Senior Drummer, James Hogg and Senior Drum Majors Tom Higginson and Henry Carter. Dressed in their traditional Tudor uniform, they provided a wonderful spectacle for the crowd.

Hide AdBand member Charlotte Scarr, Grecian (Upper Sixth Former) said: “It was a surreal experience walking onto the same ground just trodden by the English and Sri Lankan cricketers and also a tearful experience for me being the last time I would be playing at Lord’s with the Christ’s Hospital band.”
A member of the MCC complimented the Band on their “splendid music, turn-out, marching and dexterity of the drum majors”. He went on to say: “It is always a pleasurable experience at the lunch interval at Lord’s and long may it continue.”
Christ’s Hospital enjoys a long tradition of musical excellence with unrivalled facilities. At least 600 of the School’s 870 pupils learn an instrument and musical groups have the opportunity to perform both in the UK and abroad.
